“I’m good at keeping it pushing and moving on to the next task but I’m trying to get in the habit of letting myself fall apart when I need to and that’s what I’ve been doing today.”

From Post, “Good Day Turned Bad.”

Welcome to TiffaniJane.com

Hi I’m Tiffani! I was born and raised in the Bay Area and have roots in Central America. My maternal grandmother immigrated to the United States from Belize. Although there was some back and forth between Belize and California, that side of my family settled here (in the US) post Hurricane Hattie. That being said, I grew up on Oxtails, Johnny Cake and Powder Bun. West Indian accents still give me a sense of home and connection.

Post high school, I attended Howard University for undergrad and both George Washington and George Mason Universities for graduate school. I switched careers from advertising to education because I wanted to make a lasting change. Since 2010, I’ve been in therapy and on an intense self-help journey. To deal and heal, I’ve turned to writing as a comfort and a release.  It’s brought me a lot of healing and helped me find others with similar stories. I hope you find something that’s both helpful and inspiring!

Love,

TiffaniJane

Holiday Single

Yesterday I had conversations with two different people about what it's like to be single during the holidays.

Both discussions were centered around companionship or a lack-thereof. After spending many holidays single and even alone, I've managed to come up with some ways that have helped me get through and even enjoy the holidays.
