What About Your Friends? Going in Through the Roof
Last week my neighbor called to let me know the house around the corner caught fire overnight.
He said it was so bad, the firefighters had to go in through the roof.
You may be familiar with the story about the man who was sick and needed Jesus to heal him. When they discovered there were so many people they might not be able to get in, his friends lowered him in through the roof.
Luke 5:18-39 New Life Version (NLV)
Jesus Heals a Man Let Down Through the Roof of a House
18 Some men took a man who was not able to move his body to Jesus. He was carried on a bed. They looked for a way to take the man into the house where Jesus was. 19 But they could not find a way to take him in because of so many people. They made a hole in the roof over where Jesus stood. Then they let the bed with the sick man on it down before Jesus. 20 When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the man, “Friend, your sins are forgiven.”
What about your friends?
“Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” -
John 15:13 KJV
Will they stop when they can't get you through the door or will they lower you in through the roof? How locked in are they to YOUR healing?
Over the last few years I've leaned heavily on my friends and they've leaned on me. One thing is for sure, we're there for each other.
During the challenging seasons of life, it's really important to have great friends. I'm sure you've heard it often - it's not the quantity but the quality of your friendships that matters.
It's time to let some things go and to let some things grow. Nourish your friendships. Call old friends and have a long talk.
There's so much life to live. Live life with great friends!
Happy Waiting!
